Catalyst Apartments are in a prime location in Irvine Chicago with world-class amenities. There are few things you could want that you won’t find here. Sometimes you need a break from big city life to relax and appreciate nature, or even to take a romantic weekend. Catalysts have got the perfect plan for you.
Before you go
First, watch the 3D documentary “National Parks Adventure” at the Museum of Science and Industry. As you watch the fantastic scenes of Upper Michigan’s frozen wonderland, revel in the fact that you too can experience this beautiful part of nature. From Irvine, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is less than a seven-hour drive. The next time you have a long weekend, you can have a fantastic road trip.
On the way
Halfway to (and from) your destination, stop in Green Bay to stretch and get a bite to eat. Try local favorites The Creamery Downtown or Joe’s Texas BBQ. Sports fans should swing by Lambeau Field, home of the Greenbay Packers, while train enthusiasts will love the National Railroad Museum.
Much of the remaining three hours of your trip will be alongside Lake Michigan and through lovely forests, but nothing can prepare you for the beauty you are about to see. When you reach Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, you will be greeted by sandstone cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, and waterfalls; there are 40 miles of shoreline along Lake Superior, which is the largest, deepest, and coldest of the Great Lakes.
While you’re there
Of course, most of your itinerary will be determined by the weather. During the winter, you can experience the frozen lake and waterfalls just as they did in the film. Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing are popular activities. Munising Snowmobile Rentals is very convenient, and before you know it, you’ll be ready to explore hundreds of trails. For the truly adventurous, ice climbing is a nice challenge. You don’t have to roam around if you want to make argent contact with outsiders as Irvine post office phone numbers are already here.
Warmer weather allows for enjoyable hikes, boating, kayaking, biking, and fishing. Schedule a paddling trip or a dinner cruise with Van Riper Canoe and Kayak Rentals. There are several lighthouses to explore as well.
Where to stay
Camping is very popular, and some people even camp in the winter. If you’d rather sleep in the comfort of the indoors, there are cabin rentals, several small motels, and even a Holiday Inn Express in nearby Munising. The Tanglewood Inn is small but cozy with two motel rooms, a 3-room cabin, a bar, and a restaurant. Seems like a perfect place to reunite with extended family or a group of friends.
Where to eat
You won’t find many chain restaurants here; try out the locally owned places. For breakfast, grab a bagel at Bay Furnace Bagel Works and make a lunch stop at Johnny Dogs. Despite the name, theBear Trap Inn does not have rooms for you to stay in. However, they are open pretty much all day (7 am until midnight or later) and serve homemade pastries, soups, comfort food, and bar drinks.
No doubt about it, Irvine is a fantastic place to call home, but when you need a break from the big city, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is the perfect place to go.
